Frederick Todd, an apprentice of renowned landscape designer Frederick Law Olmsted, sculpted the Hildene grounds and cultivated garden beds He designed the cutting and kitchen gardens for flowers, vegetables, and herbs, and added 300 varieties of trees and flowering bushes to the property
