Has anyone tested the bee suits with bald face white faced hornets, the ones that build those big conical grey enlarging as the season progresses paper nests We were kind of joking in chat this evening about putting a suit on and ripping in to hornets nest for an authentic test of hornet

Has anybody figured out what size screen works best to keep European Hornets out of the hives while working best to allow pollen to stay on bees? Has anybody learned if there is a variety that is better than others at resisting hornets? I've tried native northern dark bees and Saskatraz Both are rather small honeybees Does it matter?

Re: I havea Bald Faced Hornet's nest in my front yard if you've never fooled with hornets, they attack enmass and will sting right through a bee suit-each hornet multiple times things can get ugly real quick even spraying them can get dicey suit up,be carefull, and be prepared good luck,mike P S sorry for the repeat post-i'm a 1 finger typist on dial up and people get ahead of me

Kill the hornets by placing the entire bag in a freezer overnight Will I get stung from hornets that emerge from a collected nest? There will be few, if any hornets in a nest collected in late fall If you feel the need to be extra-cautious, leave the nest in a garage or porch where it will be protected from the weather until mid-winter
