Happy to report that I have finished my standard chemo and radiation treatments and will likely be starting on Imfinzi (Durvamulab) probably in September Surgery was discussed prior to radiation but we decided it was best for me to continue with the standard therapy instead I finished radiation last Wednesday I haven't had a progress scan yet

My hubby has done 4 of the Imfinzi treatment as of this past friday He had CAT SCANS done a week prior to this Dr appt It appears that there is a little good news When first Dx of Cancer (April '19) one mass was 5 cm then in Aug it was 5 2 now it is 5 cm A few of the malignant lymph nodes have shrunk a little bit as well

My first Imfinzi treatment was Thursday after getting a good result from the CT PET scan on Tuesday which showed no unusual activity It was very cool in the treatment area as the maintenance crew worked on the heat The infusion took a lot longer than expected, so when I got homeand started getting chills I thought that must be the reason Wrong

Where do they find these names! Perhaps I did not dig deep enough into the 2018 posts but, I would be keenly interested in any treatment updates with this immunotherapy regimen I completed chemo and concurrent radiation therapy last week and I'm hitting a new depth of side effects now That said

Pre-Imfinzi, the Dr mentioned side effects, but said the would be immune related - eg pneumonitis, colitis, thryroid, etc No mention of effusion nor flu-like feelings to be expected Apparently prior to the actual Imfinzi infusion, the PA DID mention flu-like symptoms could be expected, so very different than what the Dr had said when my Dad

Squamous cell does not responded to Targeted Therapy But you do have a relevant immunotherapy marker (PD-L1) that is an indicator that your prescribed Imfinzi or Durvalumab immunotherapy may work I do hope so By the way, we have a very comprehensive section in our forum that is devoted to discussion about Durvalumab Find it here
