These rules establish requirements for the construction, alteration, repair, operation, and maintenance of onsite wastewater treatment systems Their purpose is to restore and maintain the quality of public waters and to protect the public health and general welfare of the people of the State of Oregon

All wastewater systems will be classified by the Department as wastewater treatment systems and or wastewater collection systems, as appropriate, in accordance with the following classification system: Small Wastewater Systems — 30 total points or less; less than 500 design population or less than 150 connections Class IV — 76 or more points
