IIRC -Red Stabil is for marine grade (ethanol free) fuel to keep the water in the fuel suspended in the fuel and not separate out -Blue stabil is red stabil plus ethanol treatment (for the normal pump gas some of us have to use) -Startron and blue stabil do basically the same thing, which is to treat the ethanol in the fuel

I used to use Marine Stabil if my boat was sitting for any length of time I Got bad fuel and had Stabil in it I was told to add StarTron to help with the fuel separation to recover most of the fuel and it worked like a gem Was able to recover all but 3 gallons on over 200 gallons

For marine engines (Mercury or not), Quicksilver Fuel Treatment 1-2-3 are supposed to be unbeatable and pretty much a mandate, if you have Mercury Marine Sta-Bil Marine and Starbright are also consistently highly rated fuel system treatments that also contain conditioners to mitigate the damage that ethanol does to marine engines
