Had a Howa 1500 in 308 and traded for an HMR in 6 5 creed I loved the Howa It was accurate and had a great trigger The downside to the Howa is that the aftermarket isn't near that of the Bergara since the Bergara follows Remington 700 footprint on things like stocks and triggers

Re: howa action vs rem 700 action the howa has some fantastic attributes tough action, plenty of extra threads for mounting the stock, flat bottom, integral massive recoil lug, one piece bolt handle capable of twisting to field strip, top end takes 'rem 700' bases, factory trigger is easily adjustable, kick ass extractor, etc

The Howa kit from Brownells is about $48 for the polymer bottom metal and around $45 for a 308 10 round mag That is quite inexpensive, but for the money, I think it is a decent value Other bottom metal is over twice that much, to as much as four times the cost The Howa bottom metal weighs in at 39 grams (1 37 oz), so it is quite light

MDT advise using their poly metal mags with the Howa SA, ACC setup due to Howa's flat bottom action From memory, I believe the MDT poly metal mags are a hair shorter at the top rear action interface to allow for the rear action tab I've been running the MDT poly metal mags for years with the Howa ACC they run like a sewing machine
