Your and my hydrometer both come with three scales; Brix, specific gravity, and potential alcohol by weight Anyhow, upon reflection, a Brix reading of 33 ~= a sg reading of 1 140 ~= 18 5% potential alcohol which is probably every bit as impossible as your reading of "near zero" (I think you meant near 1 000) So my comment wasn't useful

The hydrometer will displace the volume of soln equal to it's weight at which point it will float (archimedes principle) At OG when there is a lot of sugar in the soln it will float higher since a smaller volume of displaced soln will equal it's weight

The OG I measured with my hydrometer and the temperature I saw with my InkBird was ~ equal to what the rapt app reported This is my first fermentation with the Rapt Pill but so far its pretty accurate
