The draw of IDX is its AI integration, it’s essentially vscode with a built-in AI interface to help you code That’s what’s makes it special As for the extensibility, from the demo it looks like IDX isn’t a platform language specific IDE but more a text editor akin to vscode, so I would expect high extensibility

SRT and VTT are text-based subtitles, HDMV PGS ( sup) subtitles are image-based So you'd have to OCR the subtitles to convert to those formats You can probably convert them to VobSub ( idx sub) with FFmpeg but I don't think it can directly output to IDX SUB, so you'll have to store it in a temporary Matroska file before using mkvextract to extract them into a pair of sub idx files ffmpeg
