The game wont let you activate keep inventory for some reason, so what you can do is add this mod called the inventory pet mod This mod, along with adding a bunch of cool and useful pets, adds a gravestone pet Just feed it like 10 bones and as long as it is in your inventory, if you die, you should respawn with all your stuff intact

Anyone else having issues moving items in inventory in game? I am not sure if I have messed with a setting (I feel as if I have not) but I am unable to move any items in my inventory once they are in their specific inventory slot I can move my items around in my Backpack in bank, but once out of the bank I cannot move them

However, just in case you have trouble with it, I am loading Keep Inventory to be sure it still works well It does exactly what you're asking for, with user based permissions I haven't used it in a while, but its last update was Nov 2, 2016 (very promising) I'll edit this thread with my results EDIT:
