Double click the optifine jar and it’ll give you an option to extract, this will extract the optifine mod that’s meant to be placed in the mods folder This is a recent change Otherwise you’re meant to double click it and make a new optifine profile which would install optifine alone without forge or fabric and obviously wouldn’t allow

So I was downloading optifine and whenever I try to open the installer for it, it always opens on notepad I accidentally set it so that it opens it on notepad, is there any way to undo it and not open it from notepad? Optifine doesn't improve fps much, people usually use optifine for the zoom in feature, also there is a fps editor thing in video settings, the default is VSync I think and you can make it unlimited, but I'm not sure that actually helps fps boosting _
