Since I was a child, I was taught that "JAP" is a word used to insult Japanese people So it is true that the word itself has an offensive meaning Perhaps it still does However, whether I find the word offensive or not depends on the context in which it is used Because what is important is the meaning of the word as it was uttered at the time
