Julie, there are a lot of arguments both for and against raw feeding and feeding kibble, and I agree, it can be very confusing knowing what is the best thing for your dog I now feed Poppy kibble in the mornings and feed her raw in the evenings - some people think this is combining the worst of both methods, of course!

At around 12 months I moved Toby onto the adult version of the same food As well as the ingredients changing slightly you will find the kibble size is bigger too Not that he ever chewed it More like inhaled! We are trialling raw at the moment with some success

Re: Kibble - what's in it? Those smoked bones in pet stores are freeze dried, not cooked Theoretically they are 'raw', but I would say that the drying process would still harden them

Soaking kibble is no different to your dog having a drink after their meal in terms of the end result And you have obviously done the right thing regarding the soft poos by seeing your vet We never soaked our puppies kibble A puppy older than 8 weeks should be generally able to eat dry kibble

Yes, soak the kibble in warm water, mash it up, stuff the kong and freeze it It can be a bit frustrating tho for a small puppy to get working on a frozen kong, you could try, soak, mash and refrigerate first It's less work licking out the cold stuff Banana works well too, but at 12 weeks old you might be better off sticking with their usual
