Re: MP28 in german army #3 by Sid Guttridge » 04 Mar 2009, 14:22 Hi Blasus, Probably in late 1940, Himmler gave some MP28s to the Romanian Iron Guard, which used them in a failed coup against General Antonescu in January 1941 (See an illustration in the Osprey book on the Romanian Army)

I am trying to find out more details about these nice weapons I found basic info (MP28 is improved version of MP18, difference in stocks etc ) Is the muzzle cooler same in both versions? Same number of holes etc?

The model carried by the soldier in the first photo below is said to be an mp28 The barrel has the vent holes (rather than slots), but these vents appear to run its entire length - unlike those carried by the policemen in the original post above
