Hi all, What’s the best and most colourful reef safe sea urchin? I’m looking to add one to my tank in around 3-6 months time and want to make sure I get the right one I know the pin cushion and tuxedo urchins are reef safe but are there any more colourful ones? cheers

The only urchin I have found to be reef tank safe is the tuxedo urchin As for safe for other critters or random stuff in you tank? this guy wore a plastic nut as a crown and would pick up the cleaner crew

So I’m pretty sure my sea urchin died It hasn’t moved in like 2 weeks… but I read they will lose all their spines and you won’t see the tube feet anymore? Mine you can still see some spines and the tube feet I’m scared to take it out if it actually is alive but it seems highly unlikely that it is

Sea urchins are incredibly fascinating to me and amazing algae grazers! I've never had the courage to house a long spine urchin, but have kept pincushions, tuxedos and currently have a short spine urchin which I never see since it's nocturnal

I hear that a sea urchin is good if you have hair algae? But will it eat my corals? I was planning on putting one in there until the algae goes away then trade him I think it's black with orange on it ?? Anyone know the name? and will it eat my coral?
