Akank700 Does it appear in Windows Settings or the Action Center when you plug in the USB receiver (presuming off searching your mouse) in? If 'Mice and other pointing devices' appear, that does mean that your device is working, yet there are no solutions, from my limited scavenging, that deviate from this thread If you haven't attempted every solution within this thread, please do so, and if

Sadly, Mice and pointing devices is not showing in device manager I want to view hidden devices to see if it has been hidden, but have no mouse to open view Is there another way? Or is it possible to add Mice and pointing devices to device manager in any way without the use of a mouse?

I have changed the start value for sermouse to 4 from 3 and also disabled the automatic driver updates from registry but windows still shows 'Microsoft serial mouse' or 'Microsoft ball point' on device manager

Go to your Windows Search, type in "drivers" and "update device drivers" should come up Click on it then go to "Mice and other pointing devices" Click into it then go to your mouse (will pop up if plugged in), right click on it then "Update driver software" Choose "Search automatically" and it should download the newest drivers for you

After getting new mouse to work, then go back in and disable the internal mouse On the Device Manager, it should be under "Mice and other pointing devices" (at least on my Win7 version) Hopefully the internal mouse has its own entry -- it shouldn't be the same driver as your external mouse -- if it is, that's a problem, but hoping it won't be

Up top, click View, then "Show Hidden Devices " Scroll down to 'Mice and other pointing devices' and click on it There's bound to be two at least, maybe more, mice listed here Some will be greyed out Right click on the greyed out ones and Uninstall Device, checking the box to delete the driver if it gives you the option
