- how much higher is CarMax price vs dealership price for used cars?
Hi, I am thinking of buying a used car from CarMax, but I heard that its price is typically higher than dealership Does anyone know how much higher the price is typically (e g 10%, 20%, etc)? And is it worth it to pay the extra to buy used cars from CarMax to avoid the hassle? Thanks!

CarMax has a reputation to hold up and if they lose money on one car they will make it up in the thousands of other cars they sold That why if I were to buy a used car I will go to CarMax over a traditional dealership Oh and please stay away from European cars they’re always gonna have issues The starter BMWs are just trash

I have since purchased three more cars from Carmax I purchased one car from a "reputable" used car dealer in my city and the purchase was long, arduous, and they attempted to include shit items like glass etching to supposedly protect against theft, interior treatment for stain protection, and underbody coating for rust

Good cars, overpriced for sure, like waaayyy overpriced, but you get ease of mind with max care Example: 2014 Ford Explorer 100k miles carmax 15k Same exact vehicle at other dealers 8-10k But you can't compare the warranty you get from car max It just can't be beat anywhere So, I'd still pay the extra 4-5k for ease of mind
