As I said, according to NEC tables 9-1 and 9-5 1 2" EMT is acceptable I don't believe this is acceptable in this case and I don't think a local inspector or any of my local electricians would think it is even if a logically correct argument can be made to show it is allowed under NEC This is exactly my point
