Nelnet won't allow principal-only payments until all interest is settled Your overpayment will be applied towards the interest for the next month The old structure of school loans used to allow principal-only payments The only way around this is to figure which of your Nelnet loans groups have most of the interest paid up, so that you can start paying that principal

I call Nelnet to ask if they know how much I'm going to recieve as a refund - my initial approval says my servicer will provide the refund amount - at this point I still do not know if I'm getting a partial refund or full payments including interest Nelnet says they have no idea and to contact Borrower Defense (their favorite response)

What a shitshow of a company Loan A, daughters loan has a due date of 10 15, a sunday She logs on and cannot choose today 9saturdaY or tomorrow, the due day (sunday) if she chooses monday the 16th it states that you are choosing a date past your due date And no custoemr service lines open on a weekend

Nelnet has been down for the past hour+ for me I was just able to logon to confirm my payment amount due tomorrow Attempting the automatic payment (but other people have said there have been many issues with this) File a complaint with the Student Aid and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau if you are having issues so they can track trends and service issues with Nelnet
