While the onsen that are closest to Tokyo or Osaka seem ideal, I have been doing a bunch of reading on Hokkaido and would love the opportunity to go there Anyone have thoughts on if it is worth the trek? The two closest famous onsen towns I recommend with ryokans near Osaka though would be either Arima Onsen (about 1 hour) or Kinosaki Onsen (3 hours)
