With performance mode I also had overheating issues while plugged hbf would shut down (have also on fast charge and stapm) It would go up to 35-40W and ramp up the temps and somehow the fan curve was really low and not keeping up with the high tdp My workaround for new is seeing manual to 20-22W while plugged (20W is performance's tdp)
