I really like Notion and it is probably one of the best note taking life management app I have ever used But there is a problem, the desktop version (on MacOS) is poorly built The app is laggy and choppy, which not super annoying, but still is still noticeable, and for an app like Notion, that is totally unacceptable So I found I way to fix

I use Notion at work, but I use my personal Notion account for my daily to-do lists I just pop all my tasks on a board view and move 'em all along In my free time, I use Notion to organise my reading with lists of books I've read, how much time I've spent on each book, books to buy, bookshops I'd like to visit, and my notes on books I've liked

Desktop version has a problem since long time: I ask Notion to not open on the last page but the first of all my pages, with web app it works, with desktop app it doesn't Very frustrating knowing that I created and use an homepage with tasks, calendar et links to important pages

The desktop app is just a wrapper for the website, it's not a native app The only benefits are: it does do some caching (not enough for true offline mode, but more than what you get in the browser) you can replace https: in links with notion: to open pages directly in the app
