Posted September 7, 2024 Questar isn't gone yet, but we don't know what its future - if any - will be Only the owner knows - if even he knows - and he isn't talking We do know that Questar's optics maker - Cumberland - is out of business as of last April, so at present Questar cannot make new Questars or replace optics in existing Questars

Suk Lee is a member of Cloudy nights He sold his Questar 7 and bought a Mewlon 250 He says it simply outperforms his old 7" Questar and cools down faster (like 20 min!) for less money

The Questar told me by the reduction in tube current, clearly seen in the out of focus image as a vertical breakup from the dark spot to the top of the disk (or on the bottom if you are on the other side of focus) This pattern was much clearer than that indicated by Suiter on page 143 The star test was performed on both scopes for over two hours
