I used the Rustoleum Stops Rust line of products thinned 4 parts paint to 1 part mineral spirits and then added 2 ounces of Majic hardener per pint of paint I have read that any type of enamel hardener will probably work but I used the Majic just because it was readily available at the local Rural King store

Rustoleum takes way too long to dry if you're trying to do a quicky paint job I've always liked Krylon, but it's not as easy to find anymore 'Painters Choice' (made by Rustoleum) is another good choice as it dries faster, has good coverage, and seems to be a more durable than Krylon

I've had Rustoleum"Rusty Metal"red oxide primer last for years on frames and chassis here in the Northeast where they salt the hell out of the roads all winter long I've also had friends who worked maintenance at a chemical company and all the exposed piping was painted with Rustolem "Rusty Metal" primer as per the plant engineers specs GOOD Stuff!

A lot of these paint jobs look pretty good for Rustoleum, heck I couldn't even tell I've used it before on wheels and other parts but never on a whole car I did notice that rustoleum seems harder to clean out of my gun than the acrylic enamel's I've used I've also found that I can get a gallon of single stage acrylic enamel for about $70 00
