The Scout was actually introduced in the mid 90's, almost 10 years ahead of the Socom, but there wasn't much marketing around it Before that, it was known as the Bush rifle, going back to the 80's The Bush rifle did not have the barrel mounted rail I've always viewed the Socom as an excellent weapon for a defensive posture

Without having your data for the load used, I'll just say that CCI 350 (magnum LP) are the standard (recommended) primer for the SOCOM Other domestic LP primers (I don't know about Wolf Tula) all supposed to give significantly lower velocities (and therefore pressure) for a given powder charge

My SOCOM 16 is a blast to shoot It is not as accurate as my SCAR17, but it is a lot of fun It is kind of like a lever gun in that it handles like a sports car, and the iron sights are the best I choose the SOCOM in situations where my weapon is maybe a bit more likely to be seized!
