Thought I'd update on the situation with Sydney tools I got a call from a rep from Sydney tools HQ (not Dulwich Hill store) and advised them of the situation They investigated it and management were made aware of it About 4 weeks later they contacted me and offered a straight swap to a new tool and offered me a drill bit set for my troubles

Daytona seems to have replaced Boxo (a Taiwanese tool reseller) as the house brand of Sydney Tools The sockets seem to be identical as before, just with a different name (e g , Boxo , Daytona ) I notice the Daytona 108T ratchet seems to be identical to the Repco 108T ratchet , so it would seem Daytona tools are made by Apex, the same maker as Repco hand tools — is that fair to say?

I like Toptul screwdrivers (who supply SP Tools), they are nice, but otherwise Japanese Vessel screwdrivers are really good (the 6 piece Megadora set is $59 from Sydney tools) and all the other brands (Wiha, Wera, NWS, Klien Tools etc) are available from Amazon or even Bunnings

How are daytona tools in general I have seen them in Sydney tools but never hears of the brand I'd say they are a decent mid level tool that can handle the odd heavy duty jobs I've used Daytona sockets on 1000nm impact guns more times than you probably should working on old tractors and they didn't explode

Edit- I notice Sydney Tools also have a house brand Daytona hybrid steel-aluminium jack: https: sydneytools com au pr oduct daytona-d2000as-2000kg-aluminium-steel-racing-hydraulic-trolley-jack Some people like the aluminium trolley jacks from Costco too

I have a very early 200mm bench grinder with linishing attachment and you can replace the linishing attachment out for another grinding wheel, you just need to buy 2 additional bench grinder "arbor flange washers" the nut should already be on the grinder holding the linisher drive drum in place

They are most likely 'exactly' the same tools! For sockets and ratchets, they are both supplied by major Taiwanese supplier Toptul (Rotar) The TTI ones have some extra features like the hex on the extensions and finer tooth count ratchets as standard, so I would go for TTI
