Which it does every time and have never had issues rest of day after doing this After having to do this same protocol every launch, it just doesn’t seem right to me The radar power is piggy backed with another wire on a 15 amp fuse Simrad does say it should be on its own 5 amp dedicated so I’m thinking maybe this is the issue?

A Simrad tech helped me put this system together, he told me VRF (virtual rudder feedback) would work and I would not need a rudder sensor Now whenever there is a problem not having a sensor is the first thing noted Pisses me off a little extra knowing the system works without it but stops working after a day

Upgrading electronics on my Seahunt 225 ultra to a simrad unit w a thru-hull transducer I mainly fish offshore for tuna paddy hopping or the islands (SoCal) I am looking to get either the 175h or 175m Any insight helps thanks

Sounds to me like the problem is inside your NSE I know the unit is brand new, but check to make sure it has the latest software (v 2 5 33 218) If not, you can download from simrad site Software Updates | SIMRAD NSE | RTM2 0 there was a new patch a couple weeks ago, although they did not mention this power issue in the bulletin

So as far as Im concerned this is a Simrad software Product issue I have also bench tested with IOTA engineering regulated constant power supply And to have 1 -1 5 voltage drop for no reason without Simrad being able to answer seems like they are just trying to sweep it under the rug

I know your main chirp transducer is connected to the Simrad S5100 box, but its not clear if the side scan transducer is also connected to the same box If both transducers are connected to the S5100 box, it may be an overlay setting issue with the other MFDs I would check every single MFD's setting to make sure the downscan overlay is turned off
