- What is simulcast? - RadioReference. com Forums
Simulcast is the transmission of the same conversation on the same freqs from different locations Scanners have a hard time with digital simulcast systems Basically the systems, being digital, are just series of 1 and 0's, and when they arrive at your radio at ever so slightly different times (think fractions of a millisecond) the 1's cancel out the 0's, causing the issues If you are able

I’d like to get the terminology correct when differentiating between a P25 simulcast system’s “sites” and what to call the various transmit and or receive locations within each site I’ve been referring to these various locations using the word “location” But I believe I’ve seen the term “sub
- Scanners that handle APCO P25 Phase 2 with Simulcast
Hi! Would anyone be so kind as to provide a list of scanners that will handle APCO P25 Phase 2 Simulcast? This would be for Des Moines, Iowa (Polk County) There is a lot of confusion here locally where people will buy a Phase 2 scanner thinking it will work, but not realizing that the Simulcast
- SDS100 SDS200: - Odd Behavior on Simulcast | RadioReference. com Forums
I've begun to observe odd behavior involving both the 100 and 200 I mostly monitor 800MHz Simulcast on a major system in my city Both units have faithfully ticked away for over a year of everyday scanning without a single issue Both radios have gone neck and neck with a work issued Motorola
- SDS100 SDS200: - Simulcast distortion? | RadioReference. com Forums
You problem probably isn't related to simulcast (The SDS100 can handle multipath interference caused by simulcast fairly well) If you are indeed within 3 miles of 3 tower sites, and getting up to -115, (quite low signal), it sounds like some sort of RFI is causing problems Remember, the front end of the SDS100 200 is quite wide and any strong signal anywhere close to the target frequency
- Simulcast - RadioReference. com Forums
It is not a simulcast according to this post in Hickory Public Safety by a database administrator It is a single site, which is supported by the information in the FCC license, so the situation has nothing to do with simulcast
- SDS 100 200 and Simulcast Distortion. - RadioReference. com Forums
My SDS-100 was a big improvement on simulcast compared the scanners I owned prior to getting it, including BCD436hp, Radio Shack PRO-197, and WS-1080 I remember reading people complaining about distortion on a local Phase 1 simulcast system before I bought my first digital scanner (the PRO-197)
- BCD325P2 BCD996P2: - Simulcast Distortion - RadioReference. com Forums
it is a simulcast system, so you only need one it is a simulcast system not the towers so the same thing goes out over both towers just listen to one tower the reason things get cut out a with attenuation is that you have the squelch up at 8 and attenuation on attenuation cuts the signal to 1 100 of the original strength
