- Sobeys or Superstore, which do you prefer and what is your reason?
Sobeys prices have become more competitive (more likely superstore stopped having sales) Sobeys bakery has leapfrogged Superstore for bread and actual butter baked goods The prepped meal deli stuff seems to be slowly catching up too Highlighting local products is way better Low sensory is so nice!

I think it's similar to sobeys pricing Definitely more expensive than flyer shopping or discount grocers (no frills, freshco, etc ) But I don't think voila pricing is artificially inflated relative to Sobey's Quality is top notch (meats and produce) and any issues are rectified promptly via a refund

Sobeys is as far as I’m aware the only grocery store rn which is offering “hero pay” - a $100 bonus with every single paycheck, which is why I was interested in applying there Thanks so much for the insight into their general attitude towards workers though, I’d probably end up being trapped in their ecosystem after the pandemic anyway

I shop at small local stores, farmers markets, local meat markets, local bakeries, walmart and costco I went to sobeys yesterday for the first time in over a month and only bought a few items that were on sale I have never done groceries at any of the other stores you mentioned Edit to add Giant tiger and dollarama to my list

Same for hamburger meat I bought meat at Costco last weekend and it was $8 80KG I went to Sobeys after (for my usual small items) and hamburger meat on sale was $14 00KG and normal price is like $16 or $17 a KG You get almost twice the meat for the same price at Costco
