For me that spillway is tough for numbers of decent fish Like most spillways it is a snag fest but a 3" curly tail on a 1 16 or 1 8 oz head os always a good choice In clear water don't hesitate to use a clear lime or pearl tail if dirtier white, pink and white or even orange can produce

Yes I was fishing the Mahoning below the dam! Unfortunately the road is not accessible, you have to park at the small lot on wayland road right next to where the river goes underneath it You have to walk through the woods which is the annoying part but I also feel like the spillway gets less pressure for that reason and has better fishing!

That spillway is hit or miss Small baits will yield small snook but soak a big bait and a tarpon or monster snook could take it I've seen 3 snook over 45 inches caught there and tarpon to 100 lbs Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper
