Re: Are Sunbird boats any good? i own a 1997 sunbird 200 cc powered by a 1998 johnson 150hp boat was bought by the previous owner in '98, so it's going into it's 6th season i like the boat, especially the price i paid nothing sticks out as far as bad, but it is a quality boat the electrical is a bit messy, the hatches have become loose, thru-hulls are plastic but nothing i haven't been

Sunbird was a low end entry boat and the OMC outdrive they used was not exactly the best choice for reliability and parts availability On the good side You said 6 cly was rebuilt so it sounds like you have a 4 3 L rebuilt to a stroker, depending on what was done and what parts were used for the rebuild that could go either way

Re: Sunbird 198 Corsair specs The 4 3 is a very good engine Nice little boat There is a capacity plate on starboard side near the driver's position It should have some of that info For info on the engine, it should have various tags and stickers on it To determine fuel capacity, I would just run it to near empty (bring some extra fuel in case) and fill it up

Re: 1998 Sunbird Neptune 200cc had the exact boat, 97 model, with a 98 johnson kcook's numbers are good, but remember that 60 or so gal of fuel adds a good amount of weight, plus gear, plus trailer i always assumed i was around 4000 lbs when towing i pulled it with a toyota tacoma (small truck but 5000 lbs towing capacity) it struggled a little, but did the job i just had to go slow, both
