Currently, my system date format is set as “dd-MMM-yyyy” and is showing as “04-Dec-2024” However, I want my date format showing as “04-DEC-2024” I want MMM showing in upper case DEC, instead of Dec There is no way I can change it, even I changed the region language, etc I need an solution please Thank you Terence Ng

Now format that cell as MMM As an alternative use =TEXT(A1,"MMM") which needs no formatting EDIT Youu wanted to know why it happens using =month(a1) As you've established that returns a number in the range 1 to 12 Now if you format that as MMM excel treats that number not as a month but as a date
