Wren has really bad online reviews, I’ve just quoted to fit one, my first Wren and asked on some carpenters sites should I add a “Wren tax?” The general consensus was, quality was better than Howdens and Diy and 9 times out of 10 all is good however customer service is dire and they can be tardy with replacement parts

People have different expectations and therefore will have different reactions to the same outcome No one would want a dangerous kitchen but some may think going to Wren is a luxury experience whereas others will consider Wren a budget option and so have lower expectations of the final outcome

The only thing I didn’t like with wren was the leadtime on the supply of there worktops we fitted our kitchen within 3 days and the worktop survey was carried out on the 6th day after the kitchen was delivered and from then it was 7 weeks until our worktops arrived so that was little bit annoying when we was told is should be 3 weeks max, but over all happy with both companies

The Howdens contractor did everything from the design (picking up major design flaw in the Wren design) to the aftercare I got solid wood doors and solid wood bench tops for less than what Wren quoted for cheaper options He even came back and did some extra decorating work to finish the job off nicely Dealing with Wren was a total nightmare

We have fitted many of both brands Wren win on both points, hands down Their quality and panel door thickness is greater than IKEA and you will also find the few of us who actually for IKEA kitchens charge more as it takes longer to install due to flat pack and IKEA off spec cabinet sizes etc Personally I do like some of the innovations that IKEA offer but would also not fit one in my kitchen

I got my kitchen from DIY Kitchens and have been so pleased with the results - a fraction of the comparable Wren price and no hiccups during self-design and delivery stages My joiner commented that they were much better quality than a Wren kitchen he'd fitted a few months earlier - this was in 2020 so things may have improved

Wren are ready made wheras Ikea are flatpack so you need to take that into account If you good at flatpack thats great but if you getting it installed it may cost more as will take longer If I was putting it in myself id probably go for the wren as a) I think ready made may be stronger and b) I have a collegue with a wren kitchen and she loves it!
