I switched to Tivo for the first time (Edge) a few months ago after years of cable company DVR rentals since my last one died and instead of trading it in and continuing to pay the monthly box rental fee + DVR service fee, I realized that the Tivo Edge w lifetime subscription and 5-year warranty I paid $450 for is the same I'd pay for DVR

I wrongly presumed that wifi capability would be built in But it is not It requires the purchase of TiVo Wifi Adapter, which with shipping is another $80 (they don't say whether third party adapters are ok, but maybe) TiVo also does not warn you that the Mini Lux can only be used with TiVo Experience 4, which I prefer not to convert to
