If you meant what happens when you multiclass Monk with Fighter, I believe in BG3 you can use all weapons you have proficiency with as a monk weapon (potentially including heavy two-handed weapons, although that might not come to be) Weapons can get +1-+3 bonuses to hit dmg and have unique properties so I'd highly recommend using them
