My overall view is that UMUC UMGC is AOK for working adults and or military that want to check a box It is an online school with regional accreditation with a flexible course schedule and low tuition costs I wanted to check the box of having an undergraduate degree so that I could apply to graduate school

UMGC is terrible--professors all grade differently I had two different professors for HIST 115 and HIST 116, one gave me an A--but for the same quality of work the other one gave me a C Totally inconsistent and the prior learning thing where you do portfolios for credit is also a joke, they will do everything in their power to make sure you

Most classes had 4 or 6 quizzes The quizzes were based on the textbook Some of the textbooks can be accessed for free using your UMGC login on oreilly Most of these books were around the $50-$100 range The capstone class, CSIA 485, textbook was like $200 though I like how you have three attempts at the quiz and the highest score will count

I appreciate UMGC for what it’s allowing me to do and the doors it’ll open for me, but I don’t think it’s a very difficult school at all, too easy at times Once I finish this fall I plan on pursuing my masters at a “real” college Sometimes UMGC makes me feel a little fraudulent, like achieving this should’ve been harder

Thank OP for this amazing post I am about to graduate in a few weeks with my B S in Cybersecurity Technology from UMGC I chose to apply for the Graduate Cybersecurity Management and Policy program Unfortunately, I am unable to sign up for a summer course because the entire graduate program is being redesign
