I came up with the splash screen and asking for my password It started up fine inVMPlayer but when it gave me the splash screen from my Windows 8 1 which VMPlayer is running under I got out and since I had done a image backup of my whole system with Macrium Reflect I just restored the image from earlier today Has anyone tried something like this

Hi there VMWare are working on a few things -- for instance enabling VMWare products to run concurrently with HYPER-V so this problem will be solved in the next release (estimated Q1 2020)
- VMWARE VM can now boot from USB stick device
VMPLAYER might not have the same facility -- I'm not sure if VMPLAYER (the free version) allows boot into Firmware option Perhaps other people who have vmware player could post whether the firmware boot option exists
