I'm trying to migrate a solution from VS2008 to VS2010 that uses a mix of both C++ and C++ CLI, in various static and dynamic libraries In VS2008 the entire solution builds without any warnings or errors I opened the solution in VS2010, converted the solution and project files with the automatic wizard, and built, and I get a warning for which I can't find any useful information online: 4

That is correct The project and solution files are different between versions, so VS2005 cannot open VS2008 solutions projects However 2008 can open 2005 projects if you choose to upgrade them
