Hesitant though I may be to further divide conversation spaces around the PS5 Pro, the OT has become host to a dozen or so pages worth of fervent discussion and debate about the console's noise level during operation, coil whine, operating temperature and a myriad of apparent networking issues

With Coil Whine being prevalent on some PS5 consoles, it is annoying that with better frame-rate you get a loud as hell console At this point I'd rather have a louder fan Ironically if you play in Resolution Fidelity modes, the coil whine is pretty much next to non existent Pretty much every game that runs at 60fps will make the coil whine

With PS5 it's a lottery, some have no whine, or minimal whine, I was unlucky, my launch machine was loud and the whine got worse with demanding games Just couldn't deal with it, especially after years of the pro driving me mad

Coil whine on a console seems weird, however my 3070 had extremely loud coil whine when I got it about 2 weeks ago and now I barely hear it So maybe it will be the same with these PS5 owners

The fan noise is very loud and has a bit of a high-pitched drone to it as well This happens most clearly while playing Elden Ring (which does utilize the disc drive as well because I grabbed a ps4 copy on sale), but also is pretty bad while playing Astro's Playroom off of the internal storage I bought a second ps5 slim from a different store and it had the same issue

I have a liquid cooled setup but after seeing how overclocking my cpu and gpu wasn't worth it, I went for undervolting both The decrease in temps and watts used has been great, also helped with some coil whine I 1000000% recommend everyone out there to look into undervolting cpu+gpu, the benefits are incredible with no drawbacks
