I have a Waterman Supermaster though, of which the rod that enters the cartridge is very thin, because it lost a cylinder around that rod (For that pen, I adapted a Sheaffer slim cartridge, so that it blocks the entire width of the section with its diameter, making the pen usable, and I fill the adapted cartridge with a syringe)

Hi Dino, I used Waterman Florida Blue and PR Midnight Blues in the pen, and asked the seller to exchange it for a medium within a couple of weeks of getting it I never liked it OTOH, there are times I wish the Carene medium nib was just slightly finer than it is Never satisfied <sigh> But don't discount the Waterman Expert II, either

The color of the metal bits seems to me an unreliable vector for determining the model It seems that Waterman would use whatever combinations of gold and non-gold came to mind when a new pen was going to be made I have a "Made in Canada" Stalwart Dauntless with chrome bits everywhere except for the single gold cap band Go figure
