- Registering self-employed to use cash and carry. . .
The likes of tesco asda buy direct from manufactors and thus don't even need a cash n carry and also have massive economies of scale which cash and carrys can't even hope to compete with I worked this out when I was in a cash and carry when I was 13 to 14 and with my parents and saw that the price differential wasn't great and in somes the same price as supermarkets

- BOOKERS - Are they really cheaper? - MoneySavingExpert Forum
The reason that Bookers is cheaper than the newsagent on the corner, is because that newsagent has to buy his stock from Bookers then TRY to make a profit on it IMHO I can't imagine why anyone not in the trade would want to go to Bookers or Makro, when there are so many bargains to be had in your local supermarket
- Cash Carry Shopping - MoneySavingExpert Forum
I used to work in a cash and carry It all depend on the 'rules' of the place concerned To start off with we only allowed certain shop-keepers to be a member (Hairdressers were excluded for eg) A few years down the line the rules were relaxed (cos they weren't making enough money ) and businesses like solicitors used to be able to join
