LibreOffice has two separate input filters for PDFs, which open them in LO Writer and in Impress Draw To open a PDF file in Writer: Start Writer; Choose File | Open on the menu; In the file type drop-down box in the dialog, select "PDF - Portable Document Format (Writer) (* pdf)"
