It spits out old iDrive software and isn't compatible with iDrive 6 Possibly the database behind that legacy site only has old VINs and any new VINs incorrectly get assigned the latest version it has Pure speculation as only BMW can answer this

I replaced the IDrive Controller with actually a newer version as witnessed by additional wiring on the exterior of the BMW OEM Controller At first the new Controller seemed "sluggish and confused " By 10 minutes of gently giving each command time to process and finish the command, it worked well
