Cooling fans always on is a fail safe Check error codes, coolant sensors, wires, thermostat, etc if you think they messed up, which it sounds like they may have, talk to the shop owner about the issues you’re now having that didn’t exist before Posting here to see if anybody would be able to help mw figure out what is going on here

There's a separate line from the ECM to each fan controller for the PWM signal dictating the proportion of the fan activation I would wonder if pulling the fuse 11 after engine off when the fans are stuck running causes them to stop

My S5 has developed an issue where the cooling fan is continuing to run after the engine is switched off It wasn't for too long, before this bit of hot weather, but the other day it ran for so long it killed the battery

Then the fan starts up, after ignition off, and will not stop I've locked the car and come back to it 15mins later and the fan is still running Only way to stop it is to start the car for 5-10 seconds and switch off

I'm not an expert at interpreting VCDS output but it seems to bear out my initial reaction which is faulty thermostat Most likely the thermostat has failed and therefore the fan comes on as a failsafe Do you find it take longer than you'd expect to come up to temperature?

A small update: thought I’d let it warm up for a couple of minutes this morning and noticed that the rad fan kicks on about 30 seconds after start up, when the car is dead cold I turned off the heat, all the hvac fans and didn’t change anything
