I dig TryHackMe for their hands on exp, but if you want a stronger base line, look into the Network+ and Security+ certs Not necessarily saying you need to get the certs, but the content in there is super helpful There are also plenty of YouTube or Udemy like classes for cheap on the subjects

TRyhackme was good, but I had tons of IT experience before hand so it was kind of basic (to me) Hack the Box on the other hand challenges me regularly and I can honestly said I've learned applicable things for IT in general from HackTheBox I actually recommend HTB to people just trying to up their IT skillset in general

But since quarantine, I've taken 3 full udemy classes (Complete Ethical Hacking Course by Ermin Kreponic, Practical Ethical Hacking by Heath Adams, and Jason Dion's PenTest+ course), and some random free rooms on TryHackMe, and I've done 18 of the retired HTB boxes from the tjnull list and 3 active boxes

The other comments are absolutely accurate THM (TryHackMe) is for beginners or experienced professionals That is one of the main platforms ethical hackers are using to show their skills to potential employers, "Top 10% TryHackMe" or even lower percentages are often found in LinkedIn bio headlines

Awesome place to start and to continually improve People (ie: recruiters and other people of interest) do reference achievements on platforms such as TryHackMe Would definitely recommend looking at other platforms for well-roundedness Good luck!
