Map updates - Traverse Forum Think the GPS companies gives GM and others discount on hardware as long as locked down so they can get some revenue for people to upgrade maps Be nice if they at least gave you a free map upgrade once a year But that would conflict with an ongoing revenue stream for a these companies
GPS vs XM Antenna Wires - Tacoma World It’s unclear how the pioneer uses the gps antenna because navigation seems to work fine without it hooked up I’m guessing it works in conjunction with the phones gps and saves battery Maybe somebody else knows Not sure, but if you are using the phone for navigation through carplay, obviously you wouldn't need the GPS antenna at all
