I just purchases a 14” COMTEMPO lapidary saw from a university auction The saw has been neglected in the fact that it looks to never have been cleaned There was 2 inches of sediment in the bottom and the saw was covered in dried oil and rock sediment I almost have the saw cleaned now

Cutting oil for trim saw? - Lapidaryforum. net I agree with SC, no need for oil on the trimsaw There are several good water soluble products on the market for the purpose of lapidary cutting: Lube Cool mixes 10:1 - I had problems with it foaming Smokey's EZ-cut 1 quart makes 16 gallons, it's what I'm currently using RV anti-freeze (NOT the radiator variety, rather the stuff for storing potable water plumbing)- good corrosion inhibitor
