skimmpa to run, skimpa, skompa, to hop, skip; or Ir. sgiob to
snatch, Gael. sgiab to start or move suddenly, to snatch, W.
ysgipio to snatch.]
1. To leap lightly; to move in leaps and hounds; -- commonly
implying a sportive spirit.
