Sweetwater closing out EV N D868 kick mics @ $99 - The Gear Page Personally, I tend to lump (for better or worse) all of the tailored-response kick mics (Beta52, AKG D112, Senn e602, Audix I6, etc ) into the same category That is to say, with placement and some eq, any of those mics will sound "as-good-as" any of the others for the type of job they are performing At $99, the EV is a good deal, but I don't know that it will give you more better sound than
Recommend me a good light weight rock n roll guitar In this case was just hoping for a light guitar that didn't sound thin But this guitar is the best guitar I've ever owned The tele control plate is on there because I was so excited by how it sounded when I first strung it up that I threw it on to gig it before the pickguard arrived It's staying like this now
Line6 Helix | Page 3849 | The Gear Page There are a few retailers who have special colors (Sweetwater has the grey one There is a purple one as well that I think is Guitar Center?) There was also a special edition one that was Gold Might be more but I can't recall There are a few different colors for the Stomp besides the basic black as well There's white, red, and a blue for sure
Need interface opinions. . . home studio - The Gear Page I get the idea that Sweetwater wants to push the UA stuff pretty hard Not sure why that is My gut says they must be getting a piece of the action on all the UA plugins that are purchased after the interface is bought It is definitely high-quality gear
New first guitar! Squier CV 50s Telecaster - The Gear Page Then I saw the Squier Classic Vibe 50s telecaster in butterscotch on Sweetwater No one in town had these in any color, so I took a dive into buying online It arrived yesterday (almost exactly 24 hours after placing my phone order!!) Packaging was fantastic and I'd never be nervous buying from Sweetwater again This thing is beautiful in person
Gibson ES-339 Satin - The Gear Page It's the same guitar as a gloss 339 but done in satin at a reduced cost I had one of the first gloss models and it cost then what the satin costs now Same appointments If the satin finished LP was any indication, the satin 339 should sound more open, and have a nice tone to it as it was not drenched in that plasticized nitro Gibson embalms their gloss models in
Neural DSP Quad Cortex | Page 384 | The Gear Page Kemper, Fractal, Helix - all are clearly usable at a high level now (and hopefully the Quad Cortex at the same level, since my name is down at Sweetwater) Differences in preferences doesn’t make one crap and the others marvels or vice versa
New Les Pauls - Wheres the Bell Tone? - The Gear Page I took it back to GC after 5 days In January I bought an Epi LP Std from Sweetwater and put Seth Lovers and 500k CTS pots in it The Gibson and Epi produce a similar sound - even before mods to the Epi To my ears, neither the new Gibson nor the Epi have the same bell-like sound my '73 goldtop produced
