Snob \Snob\, n. [Icel. sn[=a]pr a dolt, impostor, charlatan. Cf.

1. A vulgar person who affects to be better, richer, or more
fashionable, than he really is; a vulgar upstart; one who
apes his superiors. --Thackeray.
